    Article text is pulled from the source when you need it. We don't store article bodies in our database. Publisher terms may still apply.

  • AI through OpenRouter

    Your question, relevant excerpts, and a little recent chat go through OpenRouter to an AI provider. We pick models for cost and quality, and data-retention terms vary by provider: some keep nothing, others may store requests under their own terms. OpenRouter may keep metadata like model, timing, and token counts.

  • Light records

    Saved papers store identifiers, not the article. Chat messages stay until you delete them. Answers can be wrong, and they're not medical advice.

  • Independent
